The Batch69 story

Built on
one question.

Why can’t Bruges have a proper artisan cookie? We didn’t wait for the answer. We made it ourselves.

It started with love,
and soul food.

In 2019, right before COVID hit, I met a girl from the States while traveling through Portugal on my first solo trip. We fell in love. It was amazing — something straight out of a movie.

Not long after, I flew to Virginia and stayed there for about a month. I met her family and had the experience of a lifetime. It was during this trip that I discovered American comfort food — soul food. The kind of food that brings people together. The kind of food that feels like home. That’s exactly what Batch69 is all about.

When I returned home, I felt a sense of longing. I missed that overwhelming joy of being embraced by a community. That’s when I decided not just to chase that feeling, but to create it myself — through food.

I spent years experimenting, until my sister and I went on a trip together and discovered our shared love for cookies. She was the one who encouraged me to start baking, and that’s how it all began.

In 2024, the first batch came out of the oven. In 2025, we made the business official. And on May 1st, 2026, we opened our very first store in the city we both grew up in.

We didn’t follow
the trend.
We set it.

Artisan cookies in Bruges weren’t a thing before us. We didn’t wait for someone else to do it. We just baked better cookies and made people pay attention.

From online orders
to a place worth
visiting.

We ran online orders for a while. It worked. People loved it. But something was always off. A great cookie isn’t meant to survive a delivery box. The texture, the warmth, the moment of pulling back the kraft paper to find four perfect cookies staring back at you. That’s the Batch69 experience. You can’t ship that.

So we opened the store. A physical place in Bruges where people come to us. We bake twice a day, at 11:00 and 15:00, and stay open until 17:00.

The store is the brand. Online ordering is still available for those who want to plan ahead. But the real experience? Walk in. Point at what you want. Eat it warm on the way out. That’s what we built this for.
